IMPORTANT
SAFETY ALERT FOR ALL MODELS OF BOY HORIZONTAL INJECTION MOLDING
MACHINES
In
accordance with the American National Standards Institute, ANSI
B151.1 -- 1997 standard, all horizontal injection molding machines
must be equipped with an electrical inhibit to stop the screw rotate
function if the operators safety gate is opened. Additionally, an
emergency stop pushbutton must be installed on the operator's panel.
This standard replaced the previous standard, ANSI-B151.1-1990 and
requires the equipment owner/user to bring their existing equipment
into compliance prior to July 22, 2000. This standard applies to
all existing horizontal injection molding machines. By implementing
this standard, your facility will have up-to-date safety standards
and your employees will benefit by the increased safety within your
injection molding workplace.
Take
a few minutes to list all your BOY injection molding machines by
model, serial number and date of manufacture. This information can
be found on the silver nameplate which is riveted on the side of
the electrical cabinet or the frame of the machine. It would also
prove helpful to include the electrical print number for each serial
number, as well. BOY Machines Inc. is at your disposal to assist
in your efforts to meet this standard. Click on the button below
and submit your request to Mr Jack Ewing, National Service Manager.
