Accolades for a Compact BOY Cleanroom
"The cleanroom application demonstrated during the PLASTPOL tradeshow was a veritable people magnet. Many interested visitors were captivated by the compact cleanroom concept exhibited at our booth," states Marek Bronikowski, marketing and sales manager at Wadim Plast. This opinion was also shared by the tradeshow organizers who awarded the cleanroom exhibit the title of especially interesting on-site exhibit.
The well-attended, four-day event gave BOY the opportunity to show off its compact concept with a cleanroom application and the BOY 22 A. Coupling parts for connecting catheters for infusion flasks were produced with the BOY injection molding machine.
The general advantage of the BOY cleanroom concept is based on the compact arrangement of the required equipment:
Air ionization above the clamping unit, sprue removal completely within the protective hood and packaging underneath the two-plate clamping unit. This means the entire system used for this application only took up about 2 m² of the tradeshow booth by the Polish representation Wadim Plast (BOY 22 setup area =1.85 m²).
The compact dimensions of the cleanroom generate the additional advantage that less room must be sealed off from the ambient air. The technical and financial production expenditures are therefore considerably lower. This also applies to the subsequent operating costs since these increase significantly with greater cleanroom volumes. This compact system achieves cleanroom category 6 quite nicely and is a more reasonably priced alternative to traditional systems.
