Procan
MD is BOY's newest microprocessor-based control system and serves
as a bridge between our solid-state Dipronic®
control and our top-of-the-line Procan CT®
control (color interactive touchscreen). In fact, an optional version
of Procan MD offers an on-screen version of our popular Dipronic
control panel, so users familiar with Dipronic layout and operation
can upgrade from toggle switches to microprocessor control. This
option is also ideal for molders by simplification of operation,
because the Dipronic system is based on symbols rather than language.
Procan MD is
distinguished by:
- Excellent
reliability for precise, repeatable molding of small and complex
parts.
- All essential
process parameters (temperatures, pressures, and speeds) are controlled
for both the injection and clamping units.
- A backlit,
flat liquid crystal display with 640 x 480 pixel resolution for
absolutely flicker-free image quality.
- Storage of
up to 30 set-up programs in EEPROM.
- Process
monitoring trends displayed on process control charts for statistical
process and quality control.
- Display
of mean values with standard deviation on a single screen for
any two process parameters.
- Assignment
of tolerance limits to trip an alarm if actual values move out
of range, so a cycle can be stopped or cylinder temperatures reduced
automatically.
- System security
is ensured by keycard access with four levels of authorization.
- Modular
design and operating system simplifies Procan MD upgrades.
The Procan
MD control is available on all of BOY's M series machines.
